Ministerial Education - Some New Options

Home -- "Main Campus"

Are you preparing for ministry as a Deacon, Parish Ministry Associate, Lay Speaker, Lay Preacher, Local Pastor, Pastoral Assistant or Associate, Lay Leader, or member of a Team Ministry ... or are you just interested in learning more about your Christian faith? Then our Associate Degree program in Pastoral Ministry (AS.Min.) may be just the course of study for you. You can either enroll in the degree program, take individual courses for your own personal religious growth, or take specific courses to meet requirements of your church judicatory.

Need a more extensive background in Ministry? Then our Bachelor of Ministry (B.Min.) or our Bachelor of Theology Degree (Th.B.) could be just the thing to enrich your religious experience. Maybe your requirements are even more intense and/or specialized? Our Master of Ministry Degree (M.Min.) or our Master of Theology Degree (Th.M.) programs may be just the right course of study for you! Providence Theological School also offers a Doctorate-by-Dissertation degree in Theology (Th.D) for clergy/pastors prepared to work independently on such a significant effort.

Our E-MinistryEDTM program at Providence Theological School offers affordable distance-learning which will enable you to have the convenience and flexibility to do your coursework when you have the time and space to do it, without the need of abandoning family, job and other commitments you might have. The individual, self-paced (asynchronous) educational programs at PTS empower you to be more vital in your ministry through a challenging curriculum designed to create an optimal learning experience. Yet you are never further away from interaction with others than the Student Discussion Forum or e-mailing the faculty with a question.

Providence Theological School offers a broad spectrum of theological thought. It is our opinion that the more we know about each other's beliefs, the closer we will be to the Kingdom of God as Christ envisioned it.

Working with your own home computer via the internet will provide the convenience you need to balance your current professional responsibilities and your personal life as you determine when, where and how you study, at your own pace, when your schedule allows!

We utilize an educational approach understood historically as “reading for orders” which is dependent upon textbook interaction and the preparation of reports and papers, interacting personally with the particular texts involved. Throughout the process students are free to engage the school via e-mail at any time concerning questions they might have.

Now is the time to prepare yourself for success in your local ministry. With course work from Providence Theological School, you can serve the Lord in the work that you have been called to do. Just how quickly this happens is up to you. You set the pace. Providence Theological School study programs are timely, relevant, effective and at a very reasonable cost. And we will help guide you along the way in this journey in faith and commitment.
