Courses for Local Ministry

Associates Degree Level Program

These courses are intended to prepare persons for local ministry in their church or parish. Associate degree level courses may be taken individually apart from the degree program to help prepare individuals in meeting local church and denominational educational requirements such as for pastoral assistants, Parish Ministry Associates (PMAs), Diaconate programs, persons Licensed to Preach, Lay Speakers, members in Team Ministry and other such programs. One must check with local judicatories and officials, however, to make certain that the courses offered by Providence Theological School meet the local requirements for their programs before enrolling.

These courses may also be taken as a core curriculum leading to an Associate Degree in Pastoral Ministry. A total of 40 credits are required for this program. Prior experience and courses you have taken may be considered for Ministry Experience Credit. Upon application to this program, your previous experience will be personally evaluated for course equivalency credit. The application process is online as is all communication with the school. We are as close as an e-mail away regarding any questions you might have throughout the process.
